Integrative Anticancer Treatment   Semicarbazide-Cadmium Therapy

The "Kacugin therapy" or Semicarbazide Cadmium Therapy (SCT) is the name of a multicomponent holistic system of treatment developed in Russia. This therapy is applied to help cancer patients (Improvement of the Quality of Life or Recovery). In international scientific catalogues the therapy is well known as "Semicarbazide-Cadmium Therapy". SCT comprises several components. Those are biologically active products registered as biologically active additives (BAA), conventional medications, probiotics, vitamins and a diet. Each element of the therapeutic system has a synergizing effect. Therapeutic results occur by applying small doses of mentioned substances. For that reason, this therapy is more patient-friendly than conventional chemotherapy.

The therapy components provoke the following effects in patient’s organism:

  • Оptimization of metabolism
  • Stimulation of immunity
  • Detoxication
  • Direct influence on cancer cells
  • Indirect antitumor effect, due to their influence on the organism.

SCT was applied to oncology patients with various cancer types. Results of the clinical tests are published in scientific literature in Russia and abroad. Medical specialists determine this therapy as safe and effective. SCT is patient-friendly, it improves patient’s general condition rapidly and reduces pain without administration of narcotics. Furthermore, due to this treatment, within some patients tumors would subside or disappear. The therapy has helped many patients to live a longer and better life. It has also healed many patients. At the present day SCT is applied for individual treatment of patients who are not responding well to conventional treatment methods. SCT is not included in cancer care standards. It is regarded as alternative or experimental methodology, due to the following reasons: This therapy implies conventional medications, which are included in the pharmacopeia but not regarded as chemotherapeutic anticancer medications. This therapy implies biologically active substances which are registered as BAA, those however are not regarded as medications. The therapy follows the principle of synergism. None of the preparations or elements is used separately. All components applied simultaneously provoke the synergetic anticancer effect. The anticancer effect is achieved by small non-toxic doses. For that reason, SCT is patient friendly.

Synergetic action, patient friendliness and small doses are the major difference between this therapy and chemotherapy. SCT has scientific argumentation. Experimental studies confirm that components of this therapy and similar preparations exert an active influence on immunity and on metabolism and have a determined antitumor effect. This was acknowledged by scientific-research centers in many countries. SCT pays major attention to the accurate balance of all components. This provokes the synergetic healing effect.

SCT COMPONENTS / ACTION

  • Damages to cell membranes of cancer cells.

CHARACTERISTICS OF  COMPONENTS. GENERAL INFORMATION

Echinacea extract with CdI2 and vitamin C. The active molecules of CdI2 are well accumulated in the fast growing tumor tissues. They get involved in the cancer cell metabolism by fixing themselves to the surfaces of cell structures and influencing the reproduction processes due to their ability of changing the DNA of cancer cells. Cells that have accumulated such molecules gradually change. The immune system is additionally activated with the help of the thymus immune modulators. It starts recognizing cancer cells, which have accumulated those preparations, and starts attacking them. Gradually in the zone of the tumors, growth of connective tissue is encountered which replaces the damaged tumor cells. A microscopical exam of a tumor fragment from a patient who has been subjected to this therapy long enough, shows  fibers of fibrous tissue, reminding traces of radiotherapy. And yet no radioactive preparations are administered in this therapy. The mechanism of this product is complex. As echinacea and vitamin C also enter the organism, they too play their individual positive role and optimize the influence of CdI2. At the cellular level, CdI2 affects cell proliferation and apoptosis. The Cd complexes exhibit anti-proliferative effects against a variety of cancer cells. It may be useful in the development of metal-coordinated Cd -based anti-cancer drugs. At low concentrations CdI2 is able to stimulate the immune system, while at higher concentrations inhibitory and suppressive reactions were observed. The vitamin C supplement decreases the CdI2 content in the liver, kidneys, testicles and muscles. The supplementation reduces the the oxidative effects of Cd. Vitamin C plays an important protective role in controlling the oxidative stress. The oxidant-antioxidant balance is an important determinant of immune cell function. More details about the effects of echinacea and vitamin C may be found in literature. These 3 components work in biological synergy.

The other major component of this therapy is aminourea (semicarbazide). This substance is administered in form of aqueous solution. It actively exerts  influence on the metabolism of the patient’s organism. Semicarbazide is a powerful antioxidant. It blocks free radicals and prevents cells from damages incurred by oxidative stress. For example, semicarbazide protects healthy cells from formaldehyde – a substance, formed within the body, and capable of inducing mutations. Semicarbazide blocks the activity of the enzyme SSAO and induces changes of metabolism not only in the body but in the tumor too. Increased activity (SSAO) relates to the occurrence of serious complications in many diseases, for example, in diabetes and heart diseases. High level of SSAO is registered with oncology patients. Blocking this enzyme and antioxidant action is beneficial for patients. The general condition of patients with severe forms of cancer improves. This effect is observed with most patients.

Semicarbazide and Signal Transduction in Tumor Cells. An important effect of semicarbazide is its impact on the work of the GABA-receptor system. Semicarbazide is an inhibitor of glutamate decarboxylase, the enzyme involved in the synthesis of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). GABA is the principal inhibitory neurotransmitter in the adult mammalian central nervous system. GABA is also expressed in peripheral nervous systems and in many non-neuronal tissues, including components of the digestive system, such as the alimentary canal, pancreas, liver and other structures. GABA is expressed at high levels in different types of cancer cells. GABA participates in proliferation of tumor cells. Increased expression of GABA and increased activity of the GABA have been observed in gastric cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, glioma and other tumors.  It has also been reported that urine concentrations of GABA in ovarian cancer patients increase with progression of malignancy. Cancer cells can produce GABA. Recent data obtained in research centers in the USA, Germany and Japan confirms the presence of GABA-activity at different types of malignant tumors. The impact on the transmission of neurotransmitters in cancer cells can disrupt the development of tumors and prevent their metastasis. At present, drugs with similar action like semicarbazide, are intensively developed worldwide.

In the process of reaction of semicarbazide with aldehydes and ketones, which are naturally formed within the human body, unusual substances, called semicarbazones, appear.  According to scientists, many of the semicarbazones are known as active anticancer medications. In this way, semicarbazide itself is not a medication, however, when properly used it can be useful for the global influence upon the metabolism of the human body. The effect of semicarbazide is universal. For example, if thermal burn is treated with semicarbazide solution, it will heal much faster than usual. This is due to the strong antioxidant activity of semicarbazide. It is a powerful donor (provider) of electrons. Other components are also used in this therapy. These are urea, which changes the metabolism, and activated clinoptilolite, which neutralizes toxins from the intestines and improves the general condition. They are combined with the intake of probiotics. Probiotics restore the intestinal flora and help the immune system. Conventional preparations based on bismuth are also prescribed. They are partially being absorbed by the intestines and activate another metal containing component of the therapy. Preparations containing isoniazid and ethambutol are administered as well. They have a therapeutic effect when combined with other components. Other medications are also used if required by patient’s condition, for example, preparations based on iron, erythropoietin and other drugs. Throughout the whole period of treatment, the intestinal microflora is being strictly monitored and the patient has to stick to a special diet. The proper combination of all components provides great results. Patients feel better. Their lifespan  prolongs  or they heal completely.

SCT does not replace conventional types of treatment. It is supplementary. Treatment by SCT method is more complicated than conventional chemotherapy. This is due to the need of individual choice of preparations and election of doses. Therefore, the success of treatment depends on the ability of the physician to apply the therapy correctly.

The simplest and cheapest type of treatment is palliative therapy using the the SCT. Preparations rapidly improve the general condition in different types of oncology. These non-expensive components may provide good help to patients. Most patients begin to feel improvement in their condition after one or two weeks after initiation of the therapy. Quality of life, activity and the life span of these patients increases. They suffer less from intoxication and pain.

The therapy could also be used for complete healing. The SCT method has cured many cancer patients. However, this therapy has its limits. There are types of cancer cells that are less sensitive to the substances containing ions of cadmium. If within three months of treatment the tumor does not shrink, it is recommended to change the therapy or use it only as a palliative treatment to maintain good condition and prolong life.

Treatment after the SCT has advantage to many types of conventional chemotherapy if a patient is recognized as incurable and is dismissed for palliative chemotherapy or gets no treatment at all. Patients, who are treated after the Kachugin method, are usually active. They look normal. They often may go on working and keep their normal way of life during the treatment. Application of this therapy does neither cause immunosuppression nor hair loss as with chemotherapy. Patients usually retain good blood analysis even during prolonged treatment.

The SCT method is a highly effective therapy that gives chances for cure. However, it has contraindications.

Prior to initiation of treatment blood tests need to be taken, based on which patients for whom this therapy is suitable are screened. Not all selected patients receive the full course of treatment. If a tumor begins to shrink by the third month of treatment, the patient continues with the treatment. In such cases, there are chances for full recovery. Usually, the process of full recovery lasts twelve months. Sometimes there are cases when after shrinkage the tumor stabilizes in size and then slowly resumes growth. This occurs during prolonged treatment, if the tumor does not disappear completely or be replaced by fibrous tissue. Thus, therapy can cure, but it may not guarantee full recovery.

Preparations. Cost of therapy

The therapy uses conventional pharmaceutical medications. It also uses certified biologically active additives (BAA). Those are manufactured by the company Vanda & Co Ltd, Bulgaria. The cost of the therapy depends on the set of medicines and BAA. However, this therapy is considerably cheaper than chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Full treatment may be obtained for 350-500 euros per month (medical advice not included). The cheapest option for treatment is palliative therapy in a hospice or at home. With the help of a few inexpensive medicines and BAAs it is possible to maintain good condition of the patient for a long period of time and to extend his/her life without suffering. In such cases the costs for preparations vary from about 250 to 350 euros per month.

Organization of treatment

This treatment is applied to able-bodied patients who agree to receive therapy and are aware of their diagnosis. Patients are not granted guarantees for full recovery, no side effects or for good tolerance. Such guarantees are impossible in oncology. The treatment is carried out under medical supervision. If the physician has no experience with this therapy, he/she will receive instructions and training. Training, license and use of this therapy are free of charge. Having in mind that active substances are administered in this therapy, the physician must regularly check blood tests of patients. Prior to initiation of treatment, the patient should sign a document to protect the physician against unsubstantiated claims.
